As an Art Educator I believe that education can be used as a tool for critical thinking and developing empathy. My work is inspired by Paolo Friere's ideas behind his book Pedagogy of the Oppressed. My teaching philosophy is centered around ideas of collaboration, dialogue, and respecting each individual's experiences they're able to contribute to conversations.
